Nature found in Bedok Reservoir

                                                                 Yellow Flame Tree

Also known as the Peltophorum pterocarpum and can grow up to 20m in height. The flowers of the yellow flame tree are yellow in colour and the petals of the tree resemble crumpled tissue paper. Flowers also develop into woody purple brown fruit pods that remain in the crown of the tree for several months before dropping off.


Mammals

Plantain Squirrel
Greyish brown in colour with a chestnut belly and a black and white line in between two. The plantain squirrel mainly feeds on fruits and nuts and snack on birds eggs and insects. It forages in trees and the underground. 


Asian Palm Civet

They normally inhabit primary forests and is an omnivore.

Birds

White Collared King Fisher
-The birds' underparts are totally white and the white portion forms a shape like a collar. It's wings are about 4 inches and very common in singapore usually found along sea coast. It feeds on insects and small lizards

White-Breasted Water-Hen
It's total length of the bird is about 12 inches and wings measure about 5 and a half inches. There is very little difference between the two genders. They are commonly found in India, Burma and southern China. They cannot be found in a few places in Singapore but are mostly found near freshwater. They search for food in swampy areas. They mainly eat insects, small fish and nuts.


Insects

Damselfly 
Most damselflies close their wings as they rest which differentiates them from dragonflies. Their wing span is about 8cm in length and their thorax is thinner than the dragonfly.



Cicada
Cicadas eyes are wide apart from their head and they make sounds in the night that sound like a 'click'.
Sometimes they may mistaken a persons arm or any other body part as a tree or a plant limb and may attempt to feed on it. They feed on plants sap which is found in xylem tube of the plant.
